I think that you mean "LOBOTOMY". It is the incision of a brain lobe. It used to be used to treat some forms of mental illness that didn't respond to other treatments. They drill a hole in the skull, and surgically "disconnect" parts of the brain from each other.
because they tell them, waht to do and because the gave their special needs daughter a frontal labotomy, Teddy left a young woman to die, and the mad their money illegally being rum runners! for your info!
This practice is called trepanation, where a hole or opening is made in the skull to treat various ailments such as epilepsy, mental illness, or headaches. It was believed to release evil spirits or relieve pressure in the head.

I really don't think that there were any positive results of lobotomy, or at least not the transorbital lobotomy. It usually made victims of this cruel procedure completely lose their personalities, so that they had no opinions and listened to whatever people said, so pretty much they were a walking, talking vegetable. Sorry if this is very one-sided answer, but I think most people currently is against lobotomies.
