WWII ended in 1945, because of Hitler's death. The war ended in the same year throughout the world.
I will presume your referring to the extermination of Jews, Romani people, communists, homosexuals and other targets of the Nazi regime during World War II. If so, the camps were halted by allied forces (British, American and Soviet forces) in the year 1945 up to May of that year. They were stopped as soon as the camps were liberated from German control and therefore it was not a particular date but a series of months.
Answer In terms of American lives, the Civil War was more costly. Americans were not involved in WW1 but for only 1 year.

It varies from year to year. Looking at data for the past 30 years the average annual death toll for tornadoes in the U.S. is 74. The highest death toll in this period was 553 set in 2011, the second deadliest tornado year in U.S. history, while the lowest was 15, set in 1987. Note that the 2011 season was highly unusual, as the next highest annual death toll was 132, set in 1998, and that if 2011 is excluded from calculations the average annual death toll is reduced to 57.
16,869, the most of any year (according to http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/en/doc/2003-11/14/content_281493.htm). Hugh Hyatt

Yes, they can be. In a typical year a few dozen people are usually killed by tornadoes. This year the death toll is in the hundreds.
i think its 7/10 Americans who smoke every year.
There are no clear statistics. One estimate is that 24,000 people are killed by lightning strikes around the world each year and about 240,000 are injured. Another estimate is that the annual global death toll is 6,000.

In The average tornado there are no deaths. On average the U.S. gets over 1,200 tornadoes per year but only about 60 tornado deaths. The average death toll for a killer tornado (at least for the U.S.) is between 2 and 3, but this is skewed upwards by a handful of tornadoes with large death tolls. The typical death toll for a killer tornado is 1.
The Holocaust began in 1933 and ended in 1945. The Holocaust was carried out by Nazi Germany, and the death toll was right around 11 million people.
