Yes.
Josef Stalin. (The Nazis invaded the USSR without any warning on 22 June 1941).
Stalin did not needed Hitler for help. They were not allies during World War II. They became enemies after Hitler violated a non-aggression pact. Yes, with the exception of the division of Poland and the Soviet occupation of the Baltic states there was nothing in common between the two. The non aggression pact was used by Hitler to secure his eastern frontier prior to launching Barbarossa in the summer of 1941.
The world was at war and Hitler was winning in 1941.
The Axis where Germany, Japan, and Italy. The leaders where Adolf Hitler, Hirohito and Benito Mussolini. Hitler also made a pact with Joseph Stalin, leader of Russia, which he later broke.
Both believed that anyone who questioned the government should be harshly punished - apex
Russia, but then turned on them in 1941.
Hitler invaded the USSR in 1941.

Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union.
About 1941, when Hitler invaded Russia.
Joseph Stalin
Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union (USSR). The secret Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact (1939), among others, allowed Germany and the USSR to divide Poland between them. However, on June 22, 1941, Hitler broke the treaty and invaded the USSR.
No, the Axis is Germany Italy & Japan. Stalin had a non aggression Pact with Hitler which divided Poland. Hitler used this to secure the eastern frontier until the summer of 1941 when he launched Barbarossa and invaded Russia.
If you refer to World War II, Hitler(Germany) signed a pact with Stalin(Soviet Union). In 1941 after the failure of the German Airforce(Luftwaffe) to bomb the British into surrender(the Battle of Britain), Hitler promptly broke the agreement by sending his army into Russia. This invasion ultimately failed.
When Hitler attacked USSR in June 1941, he broke the non-aggression pact that he had made with Stalin and invaded with his German/ Nazi troops. He therefore opened another front in the war.
Based on my knowledge, Joseph Stalin's greatest mistake was to trust Adolf Hitler by sending a representative to sign the Non-aggression Pact on May 15, 1941.
Just the opposite, Stalin doublecrossed Hitler. Both agreed to simultaneously invade Poland as agreed upon in Moscow in 1939. When the appointed time came Stalin held back his army. Germany was forced to take on Poland by itself, weakening its position and drawing the ire of the Western allies. Stalin was very clever and Hitler a bit naive. The attack on The USSR in 1941 by Germany may have appeared suicidal but in fact Hitler really had no choice. He was unable to knock out England in 1940, Germany grew weaker fighting England and knew inevitably the USA would come to their aid. He knew he could not trust Stalin again and before he could build up the Red Army into a powerful threat to attack Germany, Hitler preemptively attacked. It was a long shot gamble, and it failed. In reality the war was already decided in 1939 with Stalin's doublecross of Hitler.
