Definately YES! Many historians divide world and history into two eras: before WW1 and after WW1. This is because the era before WW1 was time of great promises and prosperity, but with war all changed: pain and suffering. Morale of people went down during the war and even further down after the war. Politicians and Religious representatives miserably failed by blindly supporting all war efforts, which was even more pronounced by WW2.As many people noted by themselves after WW1: world will never be the same.

It meant mindless killing anyone and anything in the path of an army. Rules of leading a war were changind towards causing more deaths, pain, suffering no matter if you were soldier or civilian.
