When holding or carrying the flag it should be against your chest with your left middle finger tip over the right middle finger nail with both hands flared (i.e. flat with all fingers together). Once you are ready to pass the flag slowly bring your right hand up and grasp the left side by the point and slowly turn the flag so the point is facing down. Keep your left hand on the flat and once the flag is turned grasp it with the left hand and lower the flag until it is parrallel to the ground. At this point the person receiving the flag will take it, left hand on top and right hand on the bottom (flared), and slowly bring it to their chest placing left middle finger back over the right like stated above. The passer of the flag will render a 3 second salute.
