The atomic bomb was invented in 1933 by Leo Szilard while crossing a street in London and patented the following year. For many reasons he was not able to build it at the time by himself. It took 12 years before the US was able to build the first atomic bombs and use them to end WW2.

The atomic bomb was invented in 1933 by Leo Szilard, but it took the Manhattan Project (1942 to 1947) to actually build the first ones.
Yes, considering the Japanese Military Leaders would have fought until Japan no longer existed because to surrender was dishonorable and taboo and forbidden. Once the atomic bombs were dropped Emperor Hirohito realized he had to end the war to protect the throne and empire. The military leaders tried to stop him from surrendering. Had Hirohito not surrendered millions of Japanese, Russians, Americans and other allied forces would have died and the war would have gone on for at lease one more year. All the soldiers, Marines and Red Army soldiers are extremely grateful to the men who dropped the atomic bombs because they considered the bombs saved their lives (since they did not have to invade Japan). Some of the scientists who created the atomic bombs (and are still alive) are still receiving thanks for
The Americans developed the atomic bomb during World War II as part of the Manhattan Project, which began in 1942. The first successful test of an atomic bomb, known as the Trinity Test, took place on July 16, 1945, in New Mexico. Subsequently, atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945, leading to the end of the war.
The US made atomic bombs from 1945 to 1992.

At this time (2012), none. Neither does Russia. Existing bombs are just refurbished.

By the end of Operation Crossroads in the summer of 1946, the US had built a total of 9 atomic bombs and detonated 5 of them, leaving only 4 in the stockpile. Records obtained by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists suggest that by the end of 1946 the US had built 5 more atomic bombs, ending the year with 9 in the stockpile. While the Hanford reactors had a design capacity of 3 atomic bomb cores every month, its very obvious that they were being operated far below capacity through 1945 and 1946 to minimize neutron irradiation damage to the graphite moderator and/or shutdown for repairs frequently.
1945. I cannot be more descriptive since the question asks for the year and there you have it. The year-1945.
The two atomic bomb attacks on Japan were in August 1945 (the 6th and 9th, to be exact).
It was December 8th 1941 when the US dropped the bombs on Japan.
yes, or the war would have lasted more than a year longer.
In 1945 in World War II, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. It took from 1939 until 1945 to develop the bomb.
