The turning point was on the 7th December 1941. On the 7th of December the Japanese bombed the American fleet of ships at Pearl harbour in Hawaii. It was supposed to prevent the U.S fleet in the pacific from stopping the upcoming Japanese actions. Around 200 U.S. aircraft were destroyed, almost 2,500 Americans were killed and around 1,300 wounded.
