Well...I don't if it was IN Sparta, but there was the war between Athens and Sparta.
Sparta.
sparta
Sparta's main focus was Military.
The Olympic Games were not started in Athens or Sparta. They were at Olympia in Elis.
The Persians
Of course, since the abduction of Helen, the Queen of Sparta, was what started the whole thing.
Helen, wife of King Menelaus of Sparta.
Well i am not sure but i think it was in Greece in 776BC! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The Peloponnesian War was between Athens and Sparta. It was after the great Persian war, when Athens and Sparta worked together to defeat Persia. The Peloponnesian War was started because Sparta feared Athens may dominate them one day. There was a big battle between them, lasting for many years, but in the end, Sparta won.
The Athens ended the war. The Sparta started the war.
Be cause Athens wanted even MORE power so Sparta started war and WON! They then took over there government and made it a dictatorship.
The Athens sent a contingent to help the Sparta put down a serf uprising. The Athenians started to side with the serfs, and the Spartans sent them home. Relations soured.
They continued their longstanding friendly and supportive relationship. Then Athens sent a contingent to help Sparta put down an uprising by its serf population, however the Athenians started to sympathise with the serfs and Sparta sent them home. Relations collapsed and they became hostile to each other.
I think you are referring to Helen of Sparta/Troy. However, she wasn't the prize of the war, she is what started it.
