The economy was mobilized or rather modified when it moved its major income producing commerce and industries to war production and the banks adjusted to that direction too. The large loans to fund the war and pay these armament bills were backed up by war bonds that were repaid ten years or more later. The economy also affected women in the country. They often had double salaries when they had a husband's military pay and their pay from working in war manufacturing companies or doing other necessary jobs (like childcare). After the war the economy grew more with all the consumerism after the war.

What is the value of war?

the value of war towards the American society is simply stimulation. War stimulates growth in our economy as long as we don't completely drain every last resource. It stimulates production as long as the public is involved in the war, such as World War II almost every person of working age was working in a factory that was producing War materials. When the entire nation can come together for a single cause there is nothing that is impossible War is so Valuable to our economy due to the incredible amounts of money that is being poured out from the American government. the value of war towards the American society is simply stimulation.
