The Cold War was called this because very little fighting with weapons occurred. It happened after WW2 when Stalin was dictator of the USSR. He made countries mad with his talk and his 'jabs'. Sort of like what North Korea is doing today.
He killed more of his own people than all of the people who were killed in WW2. He was so feared in his own country that no one had the courage to even talk to him. When he died, he lay gasping on the floor of his study for more than 40 hours and not one of his staff could bring themselves to go and see if he needed help. The USSR fell apart after that.
