The 24-hour clock, properly referred to as military time in the US, is based on the 24 hours in a day beginning at midnight on the day of interest. Military Time reduces confusion between A.M. and P.M. of a 12 hour clock when stating regular times. For example, if a General ordered soldiers to converge on a target at 1 o'clock, some soldiers could think he meant 1 P.M. while other soldiers could think it meant 1 A.M.

Zero-hundred or zero-hundred hours (which is written as 00:00 ) is military time for 12 o'clock midnight. It is the start of a new day.

How do you convert military time into Zulu time?

To convert military time to Zulu time, you need to account for the time zone difference between the military time zone and Coordinated Universal Time (Zulu time). Simply subtract the military time zone offset from the military time to get Zulu time. For example, if the military time is in GMT+1, subtract 1 hour from the military time to get Zulu time.

What time 0 dark 30?

It is Military slang. It is usually used to refer to any time when the sun isn't up, usually between mid-night and 4 am or so. Most operations start at Oh dark thirty, much earlier than a normal 'person' would think civilized. [New] 0-Dark-30 is 30 minutes before sunrise. -Edit- 0-dark-30 refers to a time (any time really) where the sun isn't up, but you are(and you're probably working). It doesn't mean military, but generally this is when Military members have a lot of work, so it applies well to them.
