No one was tried for a war crime for dropping the atom bombs. The definition of a war crime is as follows from the Legal Dictionary:

Any of various crimes, such as genocide or the mistreatment of prisoners of war, committed during a war and considered in violation of the conventions of warfare.

Now in light of that definition dropping a bomb on an enemy territory is part of the conventions of war. Therefore dropping the atom bombs was not a war crime. Now the crimes against the Jews and the POWs and the Filipinos were war crimes.

The US became part of WWII after its military base Pearl Harbor was bombed by Japanese forces. The reason why the Japanese bombed the US was because the US stopped distributing oil to Japan. The Japanese figured that the US would appease them if they bombed Pearl Harbor, but they were wrong. Japan ended up being bombed by an atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Japan and Nagasaki, Japan. These atomic bombings led to Japans surrender to the US.

Was wales bombed during world war 2?

Yes, Wales was bombed during World War II. One location in Wales that was heavily bombed was the city of Cardiff, which is now the capital. The Cardiff Docks were targeted by the German Luftwaffe because of the amount of coal that was being exported from them. The bombing raids there occurred intermittently from July 1940 to March 1944. Swansea was another city that was very heavily targeted, and half of the city was destroyed during a three-night bombing raid in February 1941.

What happened to Hiroshima during World War 2?

An atomic bomb was dropped on it. In 1942 a group of scientist (the Manhattan Project) formed to build a uranium bomb that would be used to assist American forces during world war II. Soon after the bombs were ready to be used, Germany surrendered leaving the decision of what to do with the bombs up to the United states new president Harry S. Truman. He made the decision to bomb Hiroshima Japan. On August 6, 1945 a nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima Japan. It is estimated that over 200,000 casualties were caused by this bomb, with a large number of them being caused after the bomb by radiation poisoning. In 1945 Hiroshima became the first city ever to be bombed by an atomic bomb. The second Japanese city, Nagasaki, was bombed on the 9th of August. This was the only time that nuclear weapons have been used in warfare.
