After World War 2 Afghanistan under went several government changes and cultural changes. Initially they stay neutral in the Cold War and modernized their own country. In the 50s and 60s Afghanistan was a Monarchical Government with a parliamentary ruling body. Then there was a Marxist coop. The communists took over the nation. In the late Eighties they fought with the Soviet Union and won their independence. The Taliban ruled for a while and in 2004 they were removed from governing the nation. A constitutional government was formed with the aid of the United Nations.
