During the Holocaust, more properly referred to as the Shoah, Hitler enacted laws that stripped Jewish people of their rights as citizens, and later their rights as human beings, eventually leading to the mass extermination of 6 million Jews and 5 million civilian non-Jews.

Note that he was not tried for war crimes as he committed suicide shortly before the end of World War 2 in Europe.
