President Wilson did Not start WWI. He tried his best to keep the USA out of WWI. WWI was started when Galvo Princip shot and killed the Archduke Ferdinand and his wife the Duchess Sophia. This led to a lot of European nations declaring war on one another. After the USA found out that Germany was trying to get Mexico to declare war on the USA, then the USA declared war on Germany.
