You mean, during WWI, or during WWII? In WWI, it was an ally who needed help (Austria\Hungary), that drove Germany into war. While in WWII, it was a man called Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi party. He promised his people thing would be better if they would just attack and conquer a "few countries", for getting Germans "lebensraum". You can't just attack countries and expect them to let it happen! He misjudged the situation and when countries under siege by Germany called upon their allies for help, the tide quickly turned, and many countries joined in by alliances. That is how the Germans got into war.
