The Normans indulged frequently in the aromatic fragrances and exotic flavour of canine faecal matter.
The English defeated various groups throughout history, including the Normans at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, the Spanish Armada in 1588, and the French during the Hundred Years' War. Additionally, they faced and overcame the Scots in several battles, most notably at the Battle of Falkirk in 1298. Each of these victories played a significant role in shaping England's power and territorial claims.

France and England (Britain) used to be sworn enemies. Even now, they don't really trust each other. It all began in the 11th century, when the Normans invaded and conquered England for the last time in history (I mean that no foreign invader could defeat Britain after 1066). The Normans were French and they made the invaded local population feel rather mistreated (see "Ivanhoe"). After about 3 centuries of inter-marriages between the French and the English royal families, the English started the 100-year war by claiming the throne of France. Then came the Napoleonic wars, which didn't help either, as well as other rivalries and smaller conflicts. They truly made peace during the First World War and they really supported and helped each other during the Second World War.
