The North wanted to abolish slavery while The South wanted to continue slavery.
Not quite. The south didn't want anything persay. The cicil war is often catagorized as being a war over slavery, and this is false. The north was fighting to keep the union in tact. Abraham Lincoln stated that "If (he) could save the Union without freeing any slaves I(he) would do it, and if (he) could save the Union by freeing all slaves, (he) would do it....What (he did) about slavery, and the coloured race, (he did) because (he believed) it helps to save the Union."
The south was fighting the was as a constitutional issue. They felt that the abolition of slavery and the compromises of 1850 and the Missourri Compromise impeded on their 10th amendment right to decide for themselves.

Well the South relied on slavery. It was mostly farming. the north didn't need slavery . it was mostly factories. and there were states being made .the south wanted those states to allow slavery. the north did not want those new states to allow slavery. Then came the civil war.
the north and south did not both agree on the same things when it came to slavery and the south didn't want to give up on slave working because they didn't have to pay the slaves where the north had white people to do the work for money
The Civil War was fought in part due to the Emancipation Proclamation. It was also fought because of what most wars are fought for money or goods. The South had something the North wanted which was cotton but also the North had Factories that the South wanted.
The Peace Democrats wanted to end the Civil War as well as the draft. They sympathized with the South.

Limitations on the rising taxes on imports. The North was trying to protect its manufacturing industry by levying high tariffs on imported goods. The South had virtually no manufacturing industry, and needed imports much more than the North. The tariffs looked like the North taxing the South.
Because the South didnt want the North let the blacks vote and they didnt want them to come boss them around of what to do.
Because the south wanted slaves and the North did not want slaves.
