There few difficulties on D-Day for the allies. The main one was the weather as in preparations for D-Day, the Allies needed to do it during night close to a full moon, so this left a 10 day window and on 9 of them the seas can be quite choppy, which didn't help the soldiers. Also the wind didn't help the parachuters as some of them were off target from few hundred meters to a mile or so.
