The Gallipoli landing occurred on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey during World War I. Specifically, the Allied forces, primarily comprising ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) troops, landed at several points along the peninsula on April 25, 1915. This campaign aimed to secure a sea route to Russia and ultimately capture the Ottoman capital, Constantinople. The operation, however, resulted in significant casualties and became a protracted stalemate.
