US Army Pin or Patch The Discharge Pin was a diamond shaped pin with an eagle inside a circle, just as you described. The patch was yellow embroidered on tan or brown. The pin was an all Brass pin. This was commonly referred to as the "ruptured duck" pin because the eagle in the insignia looks more like a duck. These pins or patches were awarded to soldiers who were discharged and it allowed them to wear the pin on their uniform and continue to wear their uniform until they were able to get home. This allowed them some relief from certain duty and orders. Link (scoll down to see Discharge Pin):

Yes
None unless you draw some inside. ^ Terrible answer: There can be many different numbers of squares inside a circle. As the size of the squares goes to zero, the number of squares goes to infinity.
Its really a simple reason. In combat you are less likely to damage the face of the watch when it is on the inside of your arm.
The new technology gradually changed military strategy. Because the rifle and the minié could kill far more people than older weapons, soldiers fighting from inside trenches or behind barricades had a great advantage in mass infantry attacks.
The US House of Representatives has no direct military authority. Its members do not have any military rank or authority, and are not inside the military chain-of-command. It does, however, control two important military-related issues:As part of Congress, the U.S. House of Representatives must pass a bill authorizing any sustained use of US military forces (under the War Powers Resolution of 1973) or must pass a bill for war to be declared (per the Constitution). Both bills must also pass the US Senate to be valid. It also controls all Military-related appropriations; that is, all funding for the US Armed Services must pass through the House.

A circle on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is meant to go over a cross or diamond symbol when a veteran currently on the wall has proven to be alive. A circle should not contain a cross; rather, the plus should be chiseled around to create a circle ("grow" into a circle, if you will).
it becomes a circle inside another circle
Probably personal markings such as his initials...or Master Sergeant, however that would read MSG.
The answer depends on their relative size: is the circle inside the square, the square inside the circle or something else?
To find the area of the circle pi*radius*squared and subtract the area of the figure inside
