The Holocaust began when the head of Germany, who was Adolf Hitler wanted to get rid of all the people he did not like. In his werds he put it that the Jews were the reason why the Germans lost WWI. So they went to the colonies that they controlled and they first put them in isolated subdivisions called ghettos in which they were given limitations. As soon as WWII got in motion, the Germans under Hitlers power(The Nazis) gathered the Jews up by ghettos and sent them off to Concentration camps where they burned the old, weak, and babies. If the Jews were healthy, they would put them to work until they died of starvation, disease, cold, or by gas chambers. A total of 6 million Jews died during the holocaust.Oskar Schindler saved 11 thousand Jews by sending them to Czechoslovakia but the train that the women were on went to Auschwitz (The largest concentration camp.

In the end the Jews that Oskar had saved were called The Schindler Jews.There has been movies and books on the Holocaust.Schindlers List has been a book and a movie (The movie has won over 3 awards)

A:Although there are hints of prejudice by Greeks and Romans against Jews as far back as the third century BCE, this was probably little different from prejudice against 'barbarians' and other ethnic groups. Antisemitism really began with the first Christian emperor, Constantine, in the fourth century. He was constrained in the extent to which he could persecute pagans, because the overwhelming majority of the empire's population was pagan, but he could discriminate against the Jews. Through the fourth century and beyond, persecution increased. In 391 CE, Emperor Theodosius banned the public worship of the pagan gods, but was constrained by tradition from banning Jewish worship. The empire would soon ban paganism altogether, making it a capital offence, but permitted Judaism to continue, although Jews were excluded from many of the rights enjoyed by other citizens.

Down through the Middle Ages and beyond, there were expulsions, forced conversions and massacres as the Christian religious and secular authorities continued to persecute Jews. The crusades were an opportunity to persecute and massacre Jews in Europe, as there were sometimes seen as easier and safer targets than the distant Muslims. The Franciscans and Dominicans later promoted antisemitism in Europe.

Jews generally fared relatively well under Islamic rule. However, pogroms were enacted from time to time in Spain, Egypt and elsewhere under Muslim rule. After the defeat of the Muslims in Spain, Muslims and Jews were required to convert to Christianity or leave the country. The Spanish Inquisition was set up to flush out those who supposedly only claimed to have converted, while continuing their old religion in secret.

Undoubtedly the peak of antisemitism came in Europe under Adolf Hitler, with over six million Jews killed by the Nazis. Hitler gained popular support for antisemitism by blaming the Jews for the hyperinflation and extreme hardships faced by Germans in the aftermath of the First World War.
