Over 3 million of these small iron shelters were erected in England before and during World War 2. They were distributed free to low income families and for a nominal fee to those that had a higher income. They were about 6 feet high, 4 1/2 feet wide and 6 1/2 feet long. They were designed to buried four feet deep and have earth piled over them. After the war, they were reclaimed for scrap metal. Some are still used, having been dug up and re-purposed as garden sheds.
in the war they had a shortage of metal to build weapons or guns so they choped bits of metal off railings that were by churches, houses building etc............

An Anderson shelter is something you would have in your garden but a Morrison shelter is something that is public so everyone could use it..... Correction..A Morrison shelter was a metal frame that could be self erected inside your own home. The purpose was to protect your family from falling masonry etc. Public shelters were often in underground stations, church halls and the like. They were signified by a large white letter 'S' on a black background.
Anderson shelters were small air raid shelters sold to people in Britain very cheaply to assemble in their backyard. They were basically 6-8 pieces of corrugated steel sheet that made a small hut when assembled. They were supposed to dig a small hole for the floor area and then build the shelter in it and cover it with earth from the hole. They held about 6 people sitting on benches either side.

They were shelters either underground or in your house or outside in your front or back garden. They were mostly made out of corrugated metal or iron for the roofs and usually metal for the walls and there were wooden stools/ seats/ bench's etc.. . and if a air raid went off they would probably stay in for a few hours.
If you drove your car for too long and the pads were worn out then there will be small grooves or either big grooves from were the metal was rubbing against the rotor. If it has big grooves in it then they probably need to be changed or on some you can turn your rotor around and still use it. If it has small grooves it should be ok. Hope this is some help to you.
