August 10. 2009 This is not a coin but a token. It is called a Civil War Token and has a value from $15 to $40 depending upon the condition of the token.
$20 - $30
In circulated condition, $12 - $30, in uncirculated condition $140 and up depending upon the actual condition of the coin.
It may be a Civil War Token but they are dated in the 1860s. Look at the date again most tokens are of poor quality and the 5 in the date may be a 6. Average value for a token is $10.00-$12.00.
Please post a new question with the denomination of the coin.
I have researched this question and although I have found information on the Communities of Excellence program and there was mention of an award, I have found nothing indicating the award was more than a trophy. I do not believe what you have is a coin but more likely a medal or something along those lines. The government has authorized the issuance of hundreds of medals and private mints produce their own as well. Medals and such are a little beyond the scope of this particular question category [US Coins] but I offer what little I know. Perhaps you could take the coin/medal to a coin dealer since some also deal in medals and such and maybe you could get a better idea of what you have from someone who can actually see it. Also there may be someone else on WikiAnswers who can add more information to what I have offered.
This coin needs to be seen for a value because in 1864 the government changed the composition and redesigned the obverse of the coin creating 3 different varieties of the same coin dated 1864. The value of each type is very different. Take it to a dealer or collector for a better idea of value.

However, if it's an authentic coin, its value can be considerably higher, often in the thousands of dollars. Always consult a professional coin appraiser for an accurate assessment.

An 1864 Bolivian Republic coin is worth around $55.00. If the coin is in near mint condition, it can be worth a little over $70.00. This coin was part of Bolivian currency back in the middle of the 19th century. It was, however, replaced by more modern coins at the turn of the century. While the coin is surely vintage and has some value, the demand for it is incredibly low. As a result, the overall value is not that much.
One in average condition is worth about $13 Canadian, or about $10 American.

No U.S. coin has the words in got you trust or in god you trust. But the 1864 2-cent piece is the first coin to have the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" on it.
