Type your answer here...The cash crops of the colony Georgia are

  • Tobacco (Southern tobacco was exported all over the world especially to England.)
  • Rice (Rice needs steamy, hot climate to grow well that is just what the Southern colonies had, that's why rice was a cash crop in the Southern Colonies.)
Indigo (Without indigo we would not have are blue dye, for are blue clothes like blue jeans and blue dresses.)

Thanks

Southern colonies cash crops?

In the early period the cash crop was tobacco. By 1850, it was cotton, which made the South very prosperous when it came to money. From this came the expression "Cotton is king!"

What was the southern economy based on AFTER the Civil War?

Blockade-running and a certain amount of highly illegal cross-border trading with the North. Otherwise, it was an improvised economy, based on some hasty building of factories, and all dependent on the dwindling Confederate dollar.

At the start of the US Civil War did the North or the South have dominance in foreign trade?

At the start of the American Civil War, it was the North that had "dominance" (or, a strong advantage) in foreign trade. While the South's cotton was a primary export crop for the United States before the war, it was Northern merchants who handled the vast majority of the shipping between markets, just as the ships themselves were typically constructed by Northern ship-builders.

How did the cotten gin cause the civil war?

The cotton gin did not cause the Civil War. The civil war was about slavery. The south wanted slavery and power. They got tired of the North's rules and so they rebelled, causing the Civil War. <><><> Agree with above. The Cotton Gin DID make it feasible to grow cotton on a large scale in the South, and THAT required cheap labor to tend and harvest the crop- tending to make slavery economically attractive.

Did the north or south have more farmland during civil war?

In 1860, there were actually more farms in the North than in the South. Northern farms were typically smaller and produced crops like wheat. But agriculture was still the backbone of the South's economy. In the South, farms were much larger -- many had more then 1,000 acres. (1 acre is about 1 football field) These huge plantations grow cash crops like tobacco, rice, and sugar. The most important crop of all was cotton. All the crops grown in the South relied on a large slave workforce. In addition the South had to pay taxes on many of the crops they exported. Many in the South felt they were taxed unfairly compared to the North.. and I agree with this fact...
