The armistice of November 11, 1918 halted the hostilities of the Great War; however, the Treaty of Versailles which was executed between Germany and the Allies on June 28, 1919 was the formal peace treaty.
The US Senate refused to ratify the treaty and the US signed a separate treaty with Germany, the Treaty of Berlin, in August, 1921.
