The United Nations did not exist during World War 2. It was created after the war, so it had no effect on the war. It replaced the League of Nations. Its strengths and weaknesses are:

Strengths:

- Over the last fifty years the United Nations has been promoting international diplomacy and relations. The United Nations did (and are doing) this by giving specific advantages and prerogative rights to its members. They removed all tax from the property of its staff members. (The staff members included the leaders of Nations.)

- The United Nations made an agreement for all of its members to freely share that state or Countries recourses among other members.

- They advised that the members of the United Nation allow business exchanges from nation to nation specifically in South East Asia in order to promote tourism.

- Tackling common health, environmental and criminal problems together in unity.

- Holding international conferences in order to raise awareness, e.g. Gender, environment, Human Settlement. The United Nations is doing this by communicating with intercontinental development agencies and deciding on the actions which it needs to take.

- Supporting third world counties with technical assistance when needed. The United Nations is supporting these countries in order to develop them to generate capital for that particular country.

- Providing a safe place for the millions of people who have experienced the damaging effects of war.

Weakness:

- Since the beginning of the United Nations at the end of World War II, over 150 wars or major skirmishes have started. That happens to be more battles started then stopped.

- The growing rate of refuses is continually increasing in 1974 it was at 2.4 million people now it has now risen to over 27 million people.

- To save generations from seeing certain cruel punishments, which the United Nations has already failed at.

- To affirm that every person male or female, black or white has deserves equal dignity and equal opportunity.

- To respect the treaties that the United Nations has made with countries or that nations have made with nations while maintaining international laws.

- To have more freedom while supporting better standards and social progress.

Their strenghts were their numbers and willingness to give up everything for the cause. Their weaknesses were their outdated weapons. The standard rifle was made in 1890.
