That's a pretty tough question as the hippies more or less died out of media as a phenominon and made way just as it has with the Yippies and X-Gen and I-Gen's.

As a mass group that interegrated into society due to need to live and survive, the hair was cut but ideals lived on and made way for other groups which are somewhat created and perpetuated by media coverage - ie: when one person does it - everyone must be doing it... and then they do syndrome.
