The final assembly of both Little Boy and Fatman was on Tinian. Fatman took 3 days to assemble, Little Boy being simpler in construction took less time.
It was a atom bomb. The uranium one and it was called the "little boy".
In WWII the United States used only two Atomic Bombs agains Japan. The first bomb was a gun-type fission bomb known as "Little Boy". "Little Boy" was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The second bomb was an implosion-type fission bomb known as "Fat Man". "Fat Man" was dropped on the Japanese city of Nagasaki.
The Little Boy bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1942.
Robert Oppenheimer is the father of nuclear bomb.
See the Related Links section below. You'll find a photo of the "Little Boy" bomb as well as the "Fat Boy" bomb and various nuclear explosions.
The first nuclear bomb, known as "Little Boy," used uranium-235 as its fissile material. It was an enriched uranium bomb that was detonated over Hiroshima, Japan, in 1945.
the biggest bomb known in mankind is a nuclear bomb :)
The fission bomb is known as the Nuclear bomb, or the A-bomb
The Little Boy nuclear bomb weighed about 9,700 pounds (4,400 kg).
It was the code name for that bomb.
The Little Boy bomb, dropped on Hiroshima in 1945, used enriched uranium-235 as its fuel. This type of bomb is known as a uranium-based atomic bomb, and it functions through the process of nuclear fission.

An atomic bomb codenamed "Little Boy" was dropped on Hiroshima at 8:15 AM on the 6th of August, 1945.
The "Little Boy" bomb used in the Hiroshima bombing was a fission bomb, specifically a gun-type uranium-235 bomb. It relied on the nuclear fission of uranium-235 to release a massive amount of energy.
I would suggest reading Richard Rhode's book "The Making Of The Atomic Bomb" first by Chuck Hansen's book "Swords Of Armageddon". They can cover it better than I can here.
