German..
The Allies decided to invade North Africa. This would give troops experience. Also, once they got to North Africa, they would be able to help British forces.
Axis
Allies vs AxisAnswerthe us, brits, and russia where the allies and Germany, Italy, and the Japanese where the axis..... hence the axis and allies....
The allies didn't "arrive." They were the first and only enemy of the Axis, the alliance of all countries against Hitler and the Axis.
In World War 2 the Axis was made of Germany, Italy, and Japan. The Allies were the US, Great Britain, and the U.S.S.RNow that the war is over, the good guys are usually called the Allies and the bay one the Axis.
Allies but the netherlands was occupied by germany in 1940s
Well i dont think they did invade france but the Axis powers did.
1943 Allies invade island Sicily
The Allies chose to invade North Africa before attempting a direct invasion of German-occupied France for several reasons. The first: their forces were not yet strong enough to face the full weight of the German Army on the Continent. Secondly, British military leaders argued persuasively that clearing the Mediterranean of enemy forces would expose the "soft underbelly" of the Axis in Europe.
In World War 2 the Allies attacked Axis controlled Europe. The first place they attacked was the island of Sicily.
The countries who fought against Germany, Japan, and Italy (the Axis) were known simply as the "Allies." The primary nations involved were Australia, Canada, China, France, New Zealand, Poland, the UK, the US, and the Soviet Union. Italy, of course, was later divided when it joined the Allies. Bulgaria, Romania and Finland likewise eventually fought Germany. Hungary and Iraq fought with the Axis for part of the war: Hungary against the USSR and Iraq against the British. Both Argentina and Denmark were pro-Axis governments. Other countries who were involved or occupied, or who supported the Allies: Albania (occupied) Belgium (occupied) Bolivia Brazil Chile Colombia Costa Rica Cuba Dominican Republic Ecuador Egypt El Salvador Ethiopia (occupied) Greece Guatemala Haiti Honduras Iran Lebanon Liberia Luxembourg (occupied) Mexico Netherlands (occupied) Nicaragua Norway (occupied) Panama Paraguay Philippines (occupied) San Marino (occupied by Allies) Saudi Arabia Soviet Union Syria Turkey United States Uruguay Venezuela Yugoslavia
They pushed the Axis powers (Germany, Japan, Italy) all the way back to their capitals and occupied their countries.
The Allies invaded the Northern African countries first and booted Germany out of Africa. Next they went after Italy.
Yes. If I understand where you are going with the question, the Allies had no choice but to invade through France, as the Axis had taken over the entire country, and were running daily bombing missions over Britain. The farther the Axis was pushed back, the more "breathing space" the Allies had in order to defend Britain and allow them to use it as a safe haven for supplies and troops. I'm sure that there are hundreds of books out there on D Day .
Axis
If you meant what was the goal then it was to get rid of all Jews from Axis-occupied territory._____________Please see the related question.
Because the Axis don't like the Allies so they battled it out
