Berlin.
The conference that divided Germany into four sectors was the Potsdam Conference, held in July-August 1945. At this meeting, the leaders of the Allied powers—namely the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union—agreed on the post-war administration of Germany. The country was divided into four occupation zones, each controlled by one of the Allies, which later contributed to the eventual division of Germany into East and West during the Cold War.

It was divided into four occupation zones. :)
In 1945, following Germany's defeat in World War II, the Allies divided the country into four occupation zones, each controlled by one of the major powers: the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and France. This division was formalized at the Yalta Conference and later confirmed at the Potsdam Conference. Berlin, although located entirely within the Soviet zone, was also divided into four sectors, reflecting the same division. The intention was to manage Germany's reconstruction and prevent future aggression, though tensions between the Allies eventually led to the division of Germany into East and West in 1949.
The Third Reich was defeated by an alliance of primarily four nations, England, France, Russia, and the United States (with help from Canada and Australia). Each of those four allied powers was therefore able to assume control over one of four sections of Germany. The Russian sector became the state of East Germany, and the English, French, and American sectors were later joined to become West Germany. The two Germanies eventually reunified in 1990.

Immediately after WWII, the German capitol of Berlin was divided into four sectors, each occupied by one of the four major allied powers (the Soviet Union, the United States, the United Kingdom and France).
Berlin was the city in Europe that was divided into four sectors following World War II. The sectors were controlled by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and the Soviet Union. This division symbolized the broader geopolitical tensions of the Cold War and ultimately led to the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961, separating East and West Berlin.

Berlin
The city of Berlin was in the middle of the Soviet zone. The Soviet zone is the part of German that ended up becoming Communist East Germany. But then in the city of Berlin you had occupation as well except in the city they were called 'sectors'. And just like the Soviet zone, the Soviet sector of Berlin ended becoming East Germany (the capitol, in fact). However the American, British and French sectors in the west part of the city stayed 'free' after the whole Berlin Blockade/Airlift debacle of 1948 and ended up a part of West Germany, although the capitol was moved to Bonn, and Berlin always had special legal and political status applied.

The city of Berlin was divided into four sectors in practice, and really amounted to two sectors in practice... West Berlin was part of West Germany, and was thus supported by NATO. East Berlin was part of East Germay, and was supported by the Warsaw Pact and COMECON countries.
