Hitler was not killed by anyone. He chose to end his life on April 30, 1945, when the end of the Second World War seemed imminent. He drew himself into his private chambers, took a cyanide tablet, and then to be sure he wouldn't be found alive, shot himself in the temple.

Soldiers in the Fuhrerbunker then took his body, doused it in petrol, and set it aflame - along with the body of his wife, Eva Braun. As nearly as anyone can tell, Adoph Hitler committed suicide by cyanide and gunshot. Since cyanide poisoning can be very painful, it is possible that Hitler or someone near him shot him to end the unexpected pain. The body was burned, so there is limited forensic evidence.
