Sounds like Appomattox, where he said General, that half of our army is destroyed."

It was when Stonewall Jackson was fatally wounded, having had his left arm amputated. Lee said "He has lost his left arm. But I have lost my right arm."
Lee was drawn into the Battle of Gettysburg by mistake. General Henry Heath advanced on Gettysburg on the morning of July 1, 1863, in order to capture a supply of shoes in the area. His men were attacked by General Buford's cavalry division. By the time General Lee arrived on the battlefield in the afternoon, several other Confederate units had joined General Heath and the battle had developed into a major engagement. General Lee ordered the rest of his army to concentrate at Gettysburg with the goal to capture Gettysburg and defeat the Union forces defending it.
General Lee was born on January 19, 1807
General Lee defeated Pope in the Second Battle of Bull Run.

General Lee lost a lot of troops and he said "I will never fight the North again."
In a 1893 newspaper article former Confederate Lieutenant General James Longstreet evaluated General Lee in two major categories. One was Lee's effectiveness when fighting on the defense and the other was Lee's performance on the offense. Longstreet said that Lee was "perfect" when leading a defensive battle. Longstreet was less enthusiastic on Lee's offensive abilities. There Longstreet politely said that Lee was not a "master in offensive battles".
Joseph Hooker said that
Robert E Lee was a amazing general for the Confederate army. Most people dont know this but he was asked by President Lincoln to be a General for the union. Lee said no to Lincolns offer because he was so loyal to his home land in Virginia.
he said "no".
Confederate General, Robert E. Lee.
General Robert E. Lee was reported to have said that to the survivors who were returning from the failed "Pickett's Charge".
he meant he wanted to have sex with general grant
When Union General Joseph Hooker learned that his opponent, General Lee was not in good health, he reportedly said the following words, which are based on reliable sources: "My plans are perfect, and when I start to carry them out, may God have mercy on Bobby Lee, for I shall have none".
Nope!2nd Answer:Lee was perhaps a traitor? Could have been a spy? Not that much different.I do believe that the Rebels could have won the American Civil War, but mistakes were made. And if not mistakes, then things done or left undone were done on purpose. Why the Rebel Army did not take Washington (the Capital) after routing the Union Army at Bull Run (Manassas) is questionable. Why did General Robert E. Lee, not listen to General Longstreet's, and other general's, advice at Gettysburg and take the high ground there at Big and Little Round Tops? After this was not done, why didn't Lee take Longstreet's solid advice to redeploy the Rebel Army to a different location, on a ground of their own choosing, where they had the advantage again? Lee took that advice as a sign of retreat, and Lee never retreated. Lee wanted Gettysburg to be the FINAL BATTLE. Lee was against the dissolution of the Union, and Slavery, but chose to lead the Rebel Army because he felt his loyalties lay with his home state of Virginia. Lee was willing to sacrafice everything "but honor" to keep the Union intact, he said. Was Lee a traitor to the Confederate Nation? Perhaps. Confederate General Pickett, after losing his entire Division at Gettysburg, later said about General Robert E. Lee, "That old man had my Division massacred". Union General George McClellan once said the Union General William T. Sherman was "gone in the head". Was Lee "gone in the head"? Did he perhaps think he was Jesus Christ? Rebel foot soldier, and high private, Sam Watkins, wrote in his memoirs that he once grabbed the reins of Lee's horse, which was loose. Upon taking the horse back to Lee, Lee said to Watkins, "Thank you my son". Watkins wrote also that he wanted to go up to Lee, about that same time, and say, "Hi Uncle Bob!", and wasn't sure later if he hadn't done just that. Watkins wrote that General Lee had no sword or gun on him, and no rank insignia.
No, General Lee is not single.
