During the war many women got a taste of being able to earn a living on their own two feet it put them in a position where they were not at the beck and call of a man just because he happened to have a penis hanging between his legs. The conservatives and opportunistic industrialists took advantage by legalizing low wages under the ridiculous they are not bread winners premise. But they are constantly leveling the playing field and throwing of their dependence on men because that is what they want.
