Because if they did, all the inmates would die as well as the officers. If they didn't die from the bombs, then their first responce would be to flee from prison and the Guards would have shot them on the spot. This was tried on one or maybe more occasions.
YES! People would have been killed but more would have been saved as the Nazi death machine would have been seriously damaged.
This is an old argument, The fact is that they were to busy using war equipment for wining the war and diverting fro more important strategic targets would have slowed the final victory down. So the answer is no. After all the aim off wining the war was not to save people in concentration camps regardless of their religion or creed, but to stop Hitler from taking over the world.
