War broke out between the American Colonies and the British empire for many reasons, the biggest were taxs. Before the French and Indian wars, (Fought between the French and there allied native American war bands and the British army on the American frontier) taxs were for the most part, low or, non-existent. After the French and Indian wars England needed money to pay for new weapons, troops, extra. Well who was going to pay for all this? Who better then the people they fought to defend. So the Parliament back in England slammed the American colonies with outrageously high taxes on everything, food, cloths, paper and tea to name a few. the american colonists fought back with boycotts, taring and feathering supporters of England and by raiding British ships, most famously the THE Boston TEA PARTY. Other events like the BOSTON MASSACRE, were a British unit formed a fireing line and shot multiple angry colonists, who had been throwing rocks, bricks, sticks, extra. The entire time the American government had been storing weapons, the British army went to seize these weapons at Lexington and other towns around Boston this lead to a few small battles between American Colonists and British troops. Soon after the British navy(at this time the most powerful in the world) blockade multiple ports New York and Boston for example. Soon multiple battles broke out and the "WAR" began.
