Germany was really unprepared to fight a war when they declared war. They did not have enough funding, people or technologically advanced fighting equipment or vehicles. They were not able to keep their troops well supplied nor could they adequately provide medical care. Furthermore, they were not prepared to fight a large scale war on two major fronts and in other nations. The populace in Germany was striking against the German government over the problems of the war, starvation problems in the homeland and Germany's failure to win and end the war. This affected the morale of the military. The civil unrest caused further problems for the government leaders and military leaders to conduct war.

Since the UK, Russian, French and US alliance did have new tanks, many planes and a lot of other new artillery and other arms the Germans could not compete against the new advances. They also resorted to using chemical warfare, which backfired on them since some of their own soldiers were affected by it. It did not provide the significant military advantage they needed against the enemies.

The German Navy was heavily blocked by the Royal Navy of the UK. They were unable to get the supplies and food products and other manufactured goods to their nation. They did try to get by the Royal Navy but did not succeed. They tried other methods of securing goods but failed overall therefore the civil unrest and problems on the war fronts continued.

Once they were out of money and lost the ability to wage war they had to give us the fight and sign the armistice agreement, further damaging Germany overall.

Or

It had to fight the war in two separate locations.

Why was Germany at distinct disadvantage military in World War 1?

Actually Germany wasn't in a very "distinct" military disadvantage. They did a good job holding off the Russian Army. But the offense brought by the United States Army and the 1918-1919 German Revolution led to Germany calling for a cease-fire. That day is well known as the Armistice Day.
