Most definatly, Hitler was a major cause of WWII.

He pronounced himself Dictator of Germany when the President of Germany died and shortly after declared war on Poland. When other nations saw this they came to the aid of Poland, thus beginning WWII.

He was an idiot, and should have never have been able to gain that much power. He was angry because Germany was in 'debt' to other nations to to the damages of WWI and the fact that Germany lost. Had someone stood up and put and end to his little power crazy, actually, in was in no form or fashion little, but if any other nation, or maybe all of them would have stood up to Germany as soon as they saw what he was doing it would have never have gotten so out of hand. But rather than that, they world went into desperation along with America when America had the Great Depression. So many other nations were dependant on loans from America, and America was loaning out money that they didn't have, which was idiotic,a nd it eventually bit them in the butt, so to speak.

So with so many other nations having desperate needs, Germany had the perfect oppertunity to take advantage of them.

technically, Hitler wasnt an idiot if he started WWII, and he didnt start it because he was power hungry, he was just plain insane. he lived in a bad invornment that involved Jews and he took it out on them, because they all seemed to be okay when everybody else wasnt. so he got Germany on his side, and this led to his crazy idea where he was going to create "the perfect world" where everybody was the same. and people tried to stop him, that's how it became a war, because we tried to protect our nation from becoming this huge blonde haired blue eyed frenzy of people. that's why alot of people died fighting Hitler because if anyone tried stopping him on their own, they were killed. he didnt believe in mercy towards others, he threw newborn babies out a window! and so to speak, we helped by giving nonexsistant funds to them..... which was bad because then we payed harshly for the damage of the money.

The breeding ground was provided with the economical inbalance after WWI (which solely a political war). Germany had to pay large amounts as compensation for the damage it did. Combined with the colapse of the regime and the effect a war has on a country (the economy was focused on war, all money was spent on warfare and the industry was converted to war purposes) Germany was left extremely poor and a lot of people were without work.

Because of the fact that it seemed other countries were at the origin of the poorness (afterall they were drawing away Germany's welth) a certain hostilety arrose towards non-Germans.

Jews have always occupied important financial possitions or deal in diamonds and other valuables and thus they were relatively rich in that period. As a result a particular dislikeing was developed towards them.

Hitler just took advantage of the situation to plant his ideology. The situation then provided an exellent environment for these ideas. This was combined with the fact that he was a rather brilliant economic leader. He provided most of the people with work (with large state commanded road works etc) and made Germany fairly wealthy on short notice. People trusted him for it and began to follow his ideas more and more. Being charismatic as he was he was (a great public speaker) he was able to impress his vision on the people.

Its just a question of the right person on the right place at the right time. All three factors are equally important. And for Germans he was just a good man... Most of the Germans didn't really know the horrible details of the attrocities. The wide spread belief was that they were deported to create 'Lebensraum' or 'space' for them to live.
