Russia's involvement in Ukraine stems from a combination of historical ties, geopolitical interests, and concerns over NATO's eastward expansion. The 2014 annexation of Crimea was partly driven by Russia's desire to maintain influence in the region and secure its naval base in Sevastopol. Additionally, Russia has supported separatist movements in Eastern Ukraine, viewing the country's shift toward the West as a threat to its national security and regional dominance. This ongoing conflict reflects deeper issues related to national identity, sovereignty, and international power dynamics.
Ukraine was one of the republics which comprised the Soviet Union. It never actually "belonged to" Russia.
Ukraine has the same military as Russia. So don't mess with them
i do nt care
== == Ukraine was not independent during WW2, therefore it did not have a leader. It was a part of Russia
In a formal sense, the Ukraine has no enemies. But the eastern part of the country has a lot of inhabitants of Russian descent and most of its all-powerful industrialists there have close connexions to Russia. Russia uses that situation to support pro-Russian separatist movements that today control a large part of Ukraine's border area. But it's not so much that Russia is an 'enemy' of the Ukraine: Russia simply wants it to be and remain just that much destabilized and out of the sphere of influence of the Western powers.
Russia is on the East of Ukraine.
Ukraine is part of Mars
Ukraine was in Russian Empire and in Soviet Union WITH Russia, but never IN Russia.
Ukraine was in USSR not in Russia!!! Russia was not independet until the break-up of USSR! that is when all the 15 republics became independent states, including UKRAINE and RUSSIA!
Ukraine is not going to join Russia. It is an independent country.
Finland-Russia-Ukraine
This is a silly question. Ukraine!
The Ukraine.
The whole of it.. .Ukraine is a whole separate country from Russia.
Ukraine is involved with the US in the Russia crisis primarily due to its ongoing conflict with Russia, which began with the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and continued with the war in eastern Ukraine. The US has supported Ukraine through financial aid, military assistance, and diplomatic efforts to counter Russian aggression and uphold Ukrainian sovereignty. This partnership is rooted in shared democratic values and the US's broader strategy to maintain stability in Eastern Europe and deter further Russian expansionism. Additionally, Ukraine seeks support from the US to enhance its defense capabilities and strengthen its ties with Western institutions.
Ukraine is a neighbor to Russia, and Russia is a much larger and more powerful country than Ukraine. Historically Russia has dominated Ukraine. In order for Ukraine to maintain its independence, it wants to ally itself with the Western World. If Ukraine is allied with the West, it will not have to worry about Russia attempting to dominate its foreign policy because it will have the protection of NATO.
The sunflower. Why? Because Russia said so and Ukraine always does what Russia says.
