Because the Red Cross was going to visit the ghetto and the Germans wanted to show the visitors a false face of the place. The Nazis needed to make visitors think the Jews live happy in the ghetto. So the restaurant was false and the soccer game was false too. Soccer is the most popular sport in the planet. So it was the best way to show the Jews lived free, healthy and absolutely happy in the ghetto.
