well for one, there are many people who consider the US-Japan conflict an entirely separate war called the Pacific War.
While the United States did help the European front on the Western front, it was in the Eastern front where the war was won: the Soviets, after being pushed to their capital, pushed back all the way to Berlin and took it over, effectively winning the most destructive war in humanity. so if the US hadn't entered, the war would still have been won, but Britain would have had a harder time on the Western Front.
It was of critical importance not just for its troop strength, but for the military production it provided.
