it would have been very close. Borzov felt a slight pull in his groin after 50metres and played it safe. Hart was the best American sprinter in Munich and I feel Borozov would have just edged him in the 100m final but by the time of the relays Borzov was fatigued after all the rounds of the 100,200 and 4x100 .. a tough one to call and the outcome would have been much closer than most people think. After watching the relay from various angles, Borzov didn't gain on Hart and nor did Eddie Hart pull away ... Eddie knew the race was over by the time Gerald Tinker passed the baton
