The fastest documented speed reached by the CF-105 Avro Arrow during flight testing was Mach 1.98. This was done with an early prototype aircraft equipped with Pratt and Whitney J-75 engines. Test Pilot Jan Zurakowski stated that the actual top speed of the aircraft was never tested, but was expected to exceed Mach 2 by a significant margin when equipped with the Orenda PS-13 Iroqouis engines, which were still in development at the time.
