It was something akin to a figurehead for a ship- after all this was a Pier, and took the form of a wooden child-doll, hence it was nicknamed the Wooden Dolly ( do not confuse with the use of Dolly for a hand-truck like device- such as a moving dolly.) I have seen pictures of it- and a brass plaque somewhere as a souvenir. I do not know if it is still in existence. Really, this is not a toy, but is rather like a figurehead or statue.
