Answer
Helicopters are made of aluminum alloy, steel, composite material and titanium alloy. Modern helicopters have a lot of its fuselage or blades made of composite materials.
Blades
Helicopter blades can be made out of wood, aluminum or composite. The very first helicopter blades were cut from wood laminates, just like early airplane propellors. Then they made them out of Aluminum. The front Spar of the blade is an aluminum extrusion that is shaped like a "D". The wing behind the spar is made of honey-comb aluminum which is thin as foil and aligned vertically. This is covered with a aluminum skin and a small wedge of aluminum is attached at the trailing edge.
Composite rotor blades are similar construction. The Spar is made by wrapping composite fibers around a form for the length of the blade. Then a composite honey-comb material is attached to it and covered with composite fabric material for the skin of the blade. This is baked in an oven. Usually a steel leading-edge abrasion strip is attached that acts to protect it from damage by hail and rain.

According to NASA, future helicopters may be probably made of shape-changing materials.

Helicopters are made with sophisticated specialized engines and heavy materials which is fueled with special gas. They are also made of steel which makes it really heay.

There have been hundreds of helicopters made in the US
Because they can do many things that winged aircraft can not do
Because it made transport easier.
