I've never come across a name for the skunk, and, strangely, it's never occurred to me to ask. I've had a look and it appears to not have a name, but this is a great question and I'll do my best to find out.

Skunkworks is the name given to the special design group of Lockheed engineers who designed the SR-71 super-sonic, Mach 3, jet. The group set up a design & manufacture shop in the desert in order to control security. Lockheed continued to use this design concept for later programs requiring security and quick application of new technologies.
