It all depends on what's available & what you want it to do.
Jets are for speed and drink Kerosene, cost a fortune, are very high tech to make. They are very inefficient in the lower atmosphere but pretty efficient & last a long time in the higher atmosphere, where the air is cool & thin.
Piston engines are pretty efficient, low tech easy to manufacture burn gasoline or diesel fuel and produce good results when attached to a propeller but not as fast. they like the lower atmosphere, wear out faster than jet engines.
So it is all about available resources, trade offs, budget, technology available & what you want to do.
There are more than 1 million types of planes in the world
The main types of propulsion include chemical propulsion (using fuel combustion), electric propulsion (using electric power to accelerate ions or plasma), and nuclear propulsion (using nuclear reactions to generate thrust). Each type has its own advantages and is suitable for different applications in space exploration and transportation.
The three main propulsion types are chemical propulsion, electric propulsion, and nuclear propulsion. Chemical propulsion uses chemical reactions to generate thrust, electric propulsion uses electric power to accelerate propellant to high speeds, and nuclear propulsion uses controlled nuclear reactions for propulsion.
There are two Type of Systems as follows; a. Gravity Method b. Pressure Feed Method
There are a few types of jobs that someone in aircraft maintenance would have to do. These include routine inspections of the aircraft, period service, and different types of checks that they call Types A through D.
several types of operating systems are there.
LIQUID PROPELLENTS OR SOLID PROPELLANTS
