How do you fix a door that has expanded?

I live in a tropical place, and it is rainy season, what is the connection to the question? Moisture and settling in. If a wood is not fully dried out, when it's cut and made into something like a Door, chances are it will expand and shrink back due to moisture. expand when its wet season and shrink when dry season (summer time). Some remedies if the door becomes to hard to close and open is to put some grease on the door sides that's sticking to the frame. This fix will not shrink your door. This will just make it a bit easier to manage the friction and the door should slide into place. Just take note about the grease and that you don't get too close to the door to get some in your clothes. Again this is just a remedy. I came to use this one time i needed to close the door at night and i couldn't shut it to get the bolt in for safety and security reasons, i had to really close the door and open it up again in the morning. I think you get my point.

To fix the problem, you need to get the moisture out. how? One way is to dry it in the sun, when it is shining. This method will shrink back the wood, the longer it gets dried in the sun the better.

A way of preventing this phenomenon from happening is to have your door sealed properly, via oil based paint, sealant or wood glue.
