How do you program a Stanley garage door opener?

• There are 2 types. Some have a small switch in both the remote and the opener with 9 or 10 little switches which have to be set in the same order. On or off. The other kind has a button on the opener that you push and it should either flash or stay lit and you have 30 seconds to press the remote and the opener records it's frequency and is automaticly set.

• 1. Remove light cover. 2. Press and hold transmitter button on remote. 3. Press and hold red receiver button. 4. Release both buttons when opener light flashes twice

Depends on the opener. Some have a set of switches in the transmitter and opener that have to match. You set whatever code you want. Some have a small square button on the opener close to where the wires for the wall button attach. Push this button, it should flash and then stay on, push the button on the transmitter, the button should flash again and go off. It should then work with that transmitter.

The programming will be different between the Stanley models. Some units have DIP switches in the remote and the over head unit, these switches need to be set to the same numbers. Other units have to be programed. On the program units, press the program switch on the overhead unit, then press the remotes buttons to program.
