I tried to hop a curb into a parking pad we have next to our driveway. That seemed to do the trick for one side. Popped it right off.
All contour svt 's were 5 speed manual transmissions. No transmission dipstick.

I was looking at the 1998 and 2000 Contour SVT supplements and in both it shows the 2.5 liter V6 engine

According to the 1998 Ford Contour SVT supplement : The original tires were the ( Goodyear Eagle F1-GS , size P205 / 55 ZR-16 ) on 16 X 6.5 inch wheels
You need the last 6 digits of your VIN# and call 1-800-FORD-SVT. $40 will get you the Certificate of Authenticity
first jack the entire front of vehicle up remove left side tire and splash shield.. then using several extensions you can reach the top bolt from the left side it takes some tedious maneuvering but it beats the hell outta removing the A- frame and lifting the engine.. and if you can do it yourself it will have you a couple hundred in labor cost!
5W30 I own one, and the manual said so.
